Meet the Parent Night

5:20 PM - Meet the Parent Night
Location: Main Lawn
We are holding a “Meet the Teacher” evening on Tuesday the 14th of February starting at 5.20pm. You are welcome to bring a takeaway tea and have it on the main lawn with all of the other families and hopefully meet some of your child’s new classmates. At 5.45pm the Junior and Senior class teachers and at 6.15pm the Middle class teachers will be available in their rooms to discuss what learning will look like in their classroom. They will explain their literacy and numeracy programme, homework expectations and exchange contact details.
We believe that children learn best when learning is meaningful and authentic. To help develop our programmes in this area we would like to collate a database of our parents occupations, skills or interests who we may call upon as “expert help” for our students.
This meeting will take 20-30 minutes and it is not designed to talk about your child’s needs as you will have an opportunity in March to have an individual meeting. Your child will be supervised during this time by the staff

Kaikorai Kiwis start

Kaikorai Kiwis is our new programme to help the transition into school for our new entrant students
It is run by our junior school lead teacher and consists of a variety of activities including literacy and numeracy skills, games and arts and crafts. Children will spend time in the new entrant classrooms and learn some of the school’s routines and expectations. Perhaps most importantly, they will get to meet and make friends with children who will be starting around the same time.
Our transition programme runs every second Wednesday starting from February 15th from 1.30 - 2.45 and is open to any child from 4 years of age. If you would like your child to attend Kaikorai Kiwis then please phone the office 464 0065
